Dear Artists, with all we need to do to keep up with all we need to do, you may have become aware of a sense that time is being experienced slightly differenly then we might have experienced it in the past. If you are bound to work other than your art work to make ends meet, be kind to yourself. Instead of trying to make up for lost time with your art..making the product or the end result too pressurized to really enjoy., let off the accelerator… breath deeply, gather your whole self for the hour or minutes youve alotted for your art and allow a sense of enjoyment to permiat the atmosphere. It is not about the product. As an artist, your soul needs creative expression. If its something that takes many visits to the “studio” to complete, relish those moments. I have collected several projects that satiate the artists soul. I enjoy doing these in a single sitting:
*collage on small colored paper.
*tiny canvases using a piece of plastic alid flat over wet paint..lifted, revealing that entices my imagination with the unexpected.
*watercolor pencils and a good tiny brush, on colored paper
*2″ masks made of paper or clay
Please be good to yourself, as artists are very sensitive people.
