New Art Exhibit and the Power of Diversity

Posted by:

I opened a new art exhibit for December’s First Friday Art Walk… at The McCreith Team, Bella Casa Real Estate Group, a beautiful upscale real estate office, here in my little town of Newberg, Oregon.

The First Friday (Art Walk), is a popular monthly event for tourists, locals, as well as artists, musicians, and wine connoisseurs. Newberg is a gentle old fashioned setting for up and coming cultural interests. Located in Yamhill County, it is becoming legendary for its fine wineries, equestrian centers, and great local artists.

I decided to put the whole gamut on my art on display for this show… including all of the diversity of styles and mediums that I love to work in. It laid out rather nicely together. The opening was wonderful. I was pleased to speak to the public about the stories behind the art, my emphasis and personal need to create art. I met lots of George Fox art students. Nice to be able to advise from an experienced perspective.

The Artisanal Winery, just down the street from Bella Casa, has graciously allowed me to promote local arts, my own fine arts, and other very interesting pieces, antiques and beautiful musical instruments in their two exquisite showroom windows. They remind me some very cool European storefront.

Here is the theme running through… “Diversity” and the “power of differences” when brought together make for a very powerful statement… a metaphor for the times.

Make everything you do ART,
